Spanish Teaching Role in a City Secondary School
A vibrant and ambitious City Secondary School in Sheffield is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Spanish Teacher to join its successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September. About the Role
You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support strong progress and inspire students to become confident linguists.
Students will develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while exploring the culture, traditions, and contemporary life of Spanish-speaking countries. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, helping them build fluency, independence, and strong academic outcomes.
The successful candidate will also contribute to language enrichment through clubs, cultural events, trips, and activities that promote enthusiasm for language learning across the school.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and challenging language lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Develop students’ speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor progress and implement effective intervention strategies
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support language clubs, trips, and cultural enrichment activities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge of Spanish language and culture
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach a second language such as French or German
Experience contributing to cultural enrichment activities
Strong track record of examination success and student progress
