Art Teaching Role in a Mixed Secondary School
A creative and ambitious Mixed Secondary School in Norwich is seeking to appoint a talented Art Teacher to join its successful Art and Design department from September. About the Role
You will teach Art across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering inspiring lessons that engage students and nurture creativity across all ability levels.
Students will explore drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, digital art, and contextual studies, developing both practical expertise and analytical understanding. You will support learners in building strong portfolios, refining their techniques, and preparing successfully for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations.
The successful candidate will also contribute to wider creative enrichment through exhibitions, competitions, clubs, and cross-curricular arts projects.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Art across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art qualifications
Support portfolio development and exhibition work
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Promote creativity through clubs, competitions, and enrichment activities
Support the wider creative life of the school

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Art at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Art and Design
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Art
Experience supporting portfolio development and student exhibitions
Knowledge of digital art or photography
Commitment to wider arts enrichment and creative education
