The campus features modern, technology-rich science laboratories and a collaborative, forward-thinking staff culture. Our behaviour management framework is built upon clear expectations, consistent routines, and mutual respect, maintaining a calm, highly purposeful learning environment that allows pupils to confidently engage in practical investigations and independent research.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Practical-Led STEM Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver high-quality science lessons across all attainment pathways, embedding consistent practical investigations to demystify complex chemical reactions, biological systems, and physics formulae.
Closing Attainment Gaps: Identify and target learning barriers, deploying structured scaffolding, visual models, and targeted literacy interventions to accelerate the progress of all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
Rigorous Laboratory Leadership: Manage busy school laboratory spaces with flawless adherence to CLEAPSS health and safety standards, teaching safe experimental techniques and proper handling of scientific apparatus.
GCSE Performance Tracking: Guide Year 11 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal Foundation and Higher tier GCSE Science papers, meticulously analysing mock scripts to eliminate misconceptions and maximise high-grade boundary retention.
Community Pastoral Care: Fulfil full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, managing daily registration, delivering pastoral curriculum units, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with families.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related natural science discipline.
Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics in terminal public GCSE examinations across both Combined and Separate Science pathways through structured, explicit pedagogy.
Inclusive Mindset: An unwavering commitment to values-based comprehensive education, demonstrating the patience, clarity, and adaptability required to inspire and support pupils of all abilities.
REGIONAL CONTEXT
Automotive Innovation & Green Technology Hub: Based in the historic city of Coventry, the school capitalizes on a unique regional identity where a world-famous heritage in automotive manufacturing and engineering meets a modern status as a leading UK centre for green technology, electric vehicle design, and aerospace research. The close proximity to the advanced research parks at the local universities and regional engineering centres provides rich, real-world links for physics, thermodynamics, and environmental chemistry modules, connecting classroom science straight to regional technical industries.
Connectivity & Infrastructure: The campus benefits from excellent West Midlands transport infrastructure, offering straightforward road commuting via the A45, A46, M6, and M69 motorway corridors. Public transit links run seamlessly across the city and surrounding counties, utilizing the comprehensive local bus networks and Coventry railway station, which provides regular, rapid Avanti West Coast and West Midlands Railway services directly to Birmingham New Street, Rugby, Leamington Spa, and London Euston.
