Finance Assistant and Administrator
A wonderful Primary School in Birmingham is seeking a professional and highly organised Finance Assistant and Administrator to join their experienced school support and operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-structured and supportive school environment where administrative staff play an essential role in the smooth running of the school.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day administrative and financial support, assisting the school business manager, senior leaders, and teaching staff. Responsibilities will include processing purchase orders and invoices, maintaining student financial progress records, updating school budget tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance and dinner money administration, and assisting with the organization of school trips and resource orders.
You will also support communication with parents, visitors, and external local authority agencies while ensuring that all financial and personal information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school front-office environment.
The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to manage day-to-day financial data entry efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative administrative team. Good IT skills and knowledge of school administrative or compliance data systems are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements
Previous financial administration or relevant school office experience
Strong organisational and communication skills
Good IT skills and data management capabilities (experience with school finance systems is advantageous)
