A forward-thinking Secondary Academy in Reading is seeking a professional and highly organised Product Design Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their experienced Design & Technology (DT) team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages, focusing on material exploration, prototype development, and spatial layout analysis. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of practical workshop sessions, CAD/CAM safety orientations, and end-of-year design showcases.
You will also support communication with parents, students, and external agencies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment.
The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and highly mindful of safety standards when working both independently and as part of a collaborative academic staff team. Good IT skills and confidence using modern manufacturing layout platforms are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Previous teaching placement or relevant instructional experience in Design & Technology / Product Design
Strong organisational and communication skills
