Art Teaching Role in a Grammar School
A highly respected Grammar School in Grantham is seeking to appoint a talented and creative Art Teacher to join its successful Creative Arts department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-achieving and academically ambitious school that values creativity alongside academic excellence.
Art is a thriving subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop technical proficiency, creative independence, and critical understanding through an engaging and challenging curriculum.
About the Role
You will teach Art across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering inspiring lessons that foster creativity, experimentation, and artistic confidence.
Students will explore a broad range of artistic disciplines including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art while developing analytical and evaluative skills through the study of artists and artistic movements.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art qualifications, supporting them in producing high-quality coursework and achieving outstanding outcomes.
The role offers opportunities to contribute to exhibitions, gallery visits, enrichment activities, and wider creative initiatives that celebrate student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Art across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations
Support portfolio development and exhibition opportunities
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support extracurricular art clubs and creative enrichment activities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Art at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge across a range of artistic disciplines
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Art
Experience working in a Grammar School or high-achieving environment
Ability to contribute to exhibitions and enrichment opportunities
Experience supporting students with portfolio preparation for higher education pathways
