Science Teaching Role in a Secondary School
A well-established Secondary School in Dudley is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join its successful Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that values curiosity, academic progress, and high-quality teaching.
Science is a core subject across the school, with students encouraged to develop scientific understanding, practical skills, and critical thinking across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire curiosity and support strong academic outcomes.
The role will involve teaching across all three sciences at KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to specialise at KS5 depending on experience and departmental need.
You will support students in developing practical laboratory skills, scientific enquiry, and exam technique, preparing them for GCSE success and future STEM pathways.
Working within a collaborative department, you will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment development, and the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Deliver engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Plan and supervise practical laboratory work
Prepare students for GCSE examinations
Assess student progress and provide effective feedback
Support intervention and revision programmes
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Excellent classroom management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching KS5 Science
Experience working in a Secondary School or inclusive setting
Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities
Strong record of supporting pupil progress and attainment
