History Teacher – Secondary School, Shropshire
A friendly and ambitious secondary school in Shropshire is seeking a History Teacher to join its Humanities department from September. This full-time role suits a teacher who can bring the past to life and develop students' skills in enquiry and argument.
About the Role You will teach History across KS3 and KS4, covering a varied curriculum that develops chronological understanding, source analysis, and persuasive writing. There is potential to contribute to KS5 provision depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Teach History across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for GCSE History examinations
Develop students' source analysis and essay-writing skills
Plan engaging lessons that bring historical periods to life
Assess work and provide regular, constructive feedback
Contribute to Humanities department planning and enrichment activities

Candidate Requirements
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong subject knowledge of History across KS3 and KS4
Experience teaching History at secondary level
Good classroom management and organisational skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level History
Experience leading or supporting historical trips
Interest in cross-curricular Humanities projects
