French Teacher – Academy, Shropshire
A forward-thinking academy in Shropshire is seeking a committed French Teacher to join its Languages department from September. This full-time role offers the chance to play a key part in raising the profile of languages within the school.
About the Role You will teach French across KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of supporting KS5 provision. The role focuses on building practical communication skills, grammatical understanding, and an appreciation of Francophone culture.
Key Responsibilities
Teach French across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for GCSE French examinations
Use a communicative, target-language approach to build fluency
Plan engaging lessons that incorporate culture and current affairs
Track and report on student progress
Support whole-school language days or international events

Candidate Requirements
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Fluency in French and confidence teaching in the target language
Experience teaching French at secondary level
Strong classroom management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level French
Ability to teach a second language (e.g. Spanish or German)
Experience organising or supporting language trips
