Drama Teacher – Secondary School, Leicestershire
A friendly and inclusive secondary school in Leicestershire is looking for a Drama Teacher to join its Performing Arts team from September. This full-time role is ideal for a practitioner who wants to build confidence and creativity in students of all abilities.
About the Role You will teach Drama across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to contribute to a developing KS5 offer. The role combines practical performance work with written analysis, and includes involvement in whole-school events and productions.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4
Prepare students for GCSE Drama, covering devising, scripted, and live theatre evaluation
Support and direct school productions and showcases
Build students' confidence in performance and collaborative work
Assess practical and written work against exam criteria
Contribute to extracurricular drama clubs or workshops

Candidate Requirements
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Drama at secondary level
Confidence leading practical, workshop-based lessons
Strong behaviour management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching GCSE Drama
Experience directing or supporting school productions
Willingness to run extracurricular performing arts clubs
