About the Role
You will take responsibility for a Year 5 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
The role includes teaching English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, and foundation subjects while supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
You will create an inspiring classroom environment that promotes resilience, independence, and high expectations for learning and behaviour.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues, specialist teachers, and parents to ensure excellent outcomes and a well-rounded educational experience for pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a Year 5 class across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
Assess pupil progress and provide meaningful feedback
Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils’ academic and personal development
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and specialist staff
Contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life
Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Passion for pupil progress and holistic development
Desirable
Experience teaching Year 5 or Upper Key Stage 2
Experience in an independent or prep school setting
Ability to contribute to extracurricular or enrichment activities
Strong understanding of transition preparation for senior school
