About the Role
You will take responsibility for a Year 5 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
The role includes teaching English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, and foundation subjects while supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development as they prepare for the transition into Year 6.
You will create a positive and stimulating classroom environment that promotes independence, resilience, and high expectations for learning and behaviour.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents to ensure excellent outcomes for pupils.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a Year 5 class across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum
Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
Assess pupil progress and provide meaningful feedback
Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils’ academic and personal development
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff
Contribute to wider school life and extracurricular activities
Maintain high standards of behaviour and achievement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within Key Stage 2 or during placements
Strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
Passion for pupil progress and development
Desirable
Experience teaching Year 5 or Upper Key Stage 2
Experience working in an outstanding school setting
Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities
Experience supporting pupils with varying learning needs
