Year 4 Teacher | Co-Educational Comprehensive Academy | Horley
CORE PURPOSE
We require an ambitious, highly skilled primary teacher to deliver high-quality Key Stage 2 (KS2) instruction to a Year 4 cohort. The role involves facilitating a challenging, broad, and balanced academic curriculum that deepens reading comprehension, mathematical reasoning, and independent inquiry, preparing pupils thoroughly for upper Key Stage 2 and their future learning pathways.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Curriculum Design & Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver highly structured, evidence-based lessons across all core and foundation subjects, tailored to meet the needs of all academic profiles.
Literacy & Mathematical Fluency: Drive high standards in writing composition and complex reading analysis, alongside embedding robust mathematical reasoning and times table automaticity in preparation for national check milestones.
Academic Progress Monitoring: Implement rigorous formative and summative assessment routines, utilising pupil tracking data to design sharp, targeted small-group interventions that bridge learning gaps.
Classroom Management: Establish routines that foster a love of learning, independent thinking, and strong collaborative skills among lower Key Stage 2 pupils.
Pastoral & Safeguarding Care: Maintain proactive, positive communication with parents and carers, managing daily pupil well-being, registration, and safeguarding duties with absolute diligence.

Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress outcomes in reading, writing, and maths through explicit, highly engaging primary pedagogy.
Routine Implementation: The ability to execute school behaviour and pastoral policies with absolute consistency, maintaining a positive, highly focused, and supportive classroom culture.
