The Opportunity
As a member of the English department, you will:
Teach English Language and Literature at GCSE and A Level.
Deliver engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons.
Develop students' critical thinking, analytical and communication skills.
Prepare students for examination success while fostering a genuine love of reading and writing.
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Support enrichment activities including literary societies, writing competitions, theatre visits, author talks, and educational trips.
Play an active role in the wider life of the school through pastoral and extracurricular involvement.
About You
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
Possess strong subject knowledge and a passion for English Language and Literature.
Have experience teaching English at GCSE and/or A Level.
Build positive and productive relationships with students.
Demonstrate high expectations for achievement, effort and behaviour.
Bring enthusiasm, creativity and fresh ideas to the classroom.
Enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive department and wider school community.
