French Teaching Role in a Grammar School

A high-achieving grammar school in Southend-on-Sea is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic French Teacher to join its successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September. About the Role

You will teach French across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that inspire students and promote excellent progress.

Students will develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while studying grammar, translation, literature, and cultural themes linked to the French-speaking world.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level French examinations, supporting them in achieving excellent outcomes and progression to higher education.

You may also have the opportunity to contribute to wider MFL enrichment opportunities, including language clubs, exchange programmes, and cultural events.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach French across KS3, KS4, and KS5

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching French at secondary level

• Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

• Strong subject knowledge in French

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level French

• Ability to teach an additional language

• Experience working in a grammar or high-achieving school

• Ability to contribute to language enrichment opportunities
