The Role
The successful candidate will:
Teach German across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills
Inspire students to explore German language, culture, history, and contemporary society
Support students of all abilities through inclusive and differentiated teaching strategies
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level German examinations
Contribute to the development of schemes of work and innovative departmental resources
Support enrichment opportunities such as language clubs, cultural events, exchange programmes, and educational visits
Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
Play an active role in the pastoral life of the school, including form tutor responsibilities
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
Holds, or is working towards, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Has a degree in German, Modern Languages, Linguistics, or a related discipline
Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for language education
Is committed to developing their teaching practice as an Early Career Teacher
Has high expectations for student achievement, engagement, and behaviour
Is reflective, enthusiastic, and dedicated to continuous professional development
Thrives within a collaborative and supportive department
Is keen to contribute to the wider co-curricular and pastoral life of an independent school
