Business Teaching Role in an Independent School
An independent school in Liverpool is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Business Teacher to join its successful department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and academically ambitious school that values enterprise, innovation, and high-quality teaching.
Business Studies is a popular subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop commercial awareness, entrepreneurial thinking, and analytical skills through engaging and relevant learning.
About the Role
You will teach Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that challenge students and develop commercial understanding.
Students will study topics including marketing, finance, operations, entrepreneurship, human resources, and business strategy while developing strong evaluative writing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations, supporting students in achieving excellent outcomes and progression to higher education or business-related career pathways.
You will work collaboratively within a successful department while benefiting from smaller class sizes, excellent resources, and a strong focus on personalised learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging and academically rigorous business lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support enterprise and enrichment opportunities
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and behaviour

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary or sixth form level
Strong subject knowledge in Business
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 confidently
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Business
Experience working in an independent school setting
Ability to contribute to enterprise or extracurricular activities
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
