Business Teaching Role in an Academy School
A forward-thinking academy school in Cambridge is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Business Teacher to join its successful department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-performing and innovative school that values enterprise, critical thinking, and academic achievement.
Business Studies is a popular and growing subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop commercial awareness, entrepreneurial thinking, and analytical skills through engaging and relevant learning.
About the Role
You will teach Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and academically rigorous lessons that inspire curiosity and commercial understanding.
Students will study areas including marketing, finance, operations, human resources, entrepreneurship, and business strategy while developing evaluative writing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations, supporting them in achieving strong academic outcomes and progression to higher education or employment pathways.
You will work collaboratively within a successful department committed to innovation, curriculum development, and high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging and relevant business lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations
Assess student work and provide meaningful feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support enterprise initiatives and enrichment opportunities
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and behaviour

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary or sixth form level
Strong subject knowledge in Business
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 confidently
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Business
Experience working in an academy or high-performing school setting
Ability to contribute to enterprise or extracurricular activities
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
