Science Teaching Role in a Grammar School
A high-achieving grammar school in Coventry is seeking to appoint an ambitious and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its successful department from September. About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and academically challenging lessons that stretch and inspire highly motivated students.
The role includes teaching practical and theoretical Science, helping students develop strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting high academic achievement and fostering a passion for scientific exploration.
You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department committed to maintaining exceptional standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver challenging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Assess student work and provide detailed, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and support academic excellence
Contribute to curriculum development and STEM enrichment
Maintain safe laboratory procedures and high classroom expectations

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Experience working in a grammar, selective, or high-achieving school
Strong track record of examination success
Ability to contribute to STEM clubs, Olympiads, or enrichment activities
