CORE PURPOSE
We require an ambitious, pedagogically expert Primary Teacher to lead a Year 5 class within Upper Key Stage 2. The role involves facilitating a rigorous, knowledge-rich academic curriculum that bridges foundational primary skills with advanced abstract concepts, establishing the high expectations, independent study habits, and structural writing depth required for final-year primary assessments and secondary transition.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Curriculum Design & Instruction: Plan, resource, and deliver highly structured, evidence-based lessons across reading, writing, mathematics, and foundation subjects, tailored to the advanced demands of Upper Key Stage 2.
Advanced Literacy & Analytical Reading: Deepen reading comprehension and critical thinking through complex text analysis, whilst embedding sophisticated writing frameworks to expand pupils' grammatical mastery and vocabulary structure.
Mathematical Reasoning: Implement systematic numeracy routines that focus heavily on multi-step problem-solving, fraction-decimal abstractions, and algebraic foundations, ensuring deep conceptual fluency.
Progress Diagnostics: Run regular formative checks and utilize primary tracking data to identify learning gaps, designing sharp, immediate classroom interventions to keep all learners on track for Year 6.
Pastoral & Holistic Care: Maintain a highly supportive, inclusive classroom environment, managing parent-teacher communication proactively to support the personal, social, and emotional development of every child.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
