Science Teaching Role in a Secondary School

About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that challenge students and promote excellent progress.
The role includes both theoretical learning and practical laboratory work, helping students build confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in achieving strong outcomes and progression to further study.
You will work collaboratively within a committed Science department focused on high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Plan and supervise practical laboratory sessions
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Track and monitor student progress effectively
Maintain safe laboratory practices and procedures
Contribute to departmental development and STEM enrichment

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Experience working in a high-performing or selective school setting
Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment opportunities
Strong exam preparation experience
