An independent school in Huddersfield is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its department from September. About the Role
You will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that inspire curiosity and academic confidence.
The role includes both theoretical and practical laboratory-based learning, helping students build confidence in experimentation, evaluation, and scientific reasoning.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations, supporting them in achieving strong academic outcomes and progression to higher education.
You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department while benefiting from smaller class sizes, excellent resources, and a strong focus on personalised learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments
Contribute to STEM and wider enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Science at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Science
Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics
Experience working in an independent school setting
Ability to contribute to STEM or extracurricular activities
