Business Teaching Role in a Secondary School
A well-established secondary school in Reading is seeking to appoint a Business Teacher to join its Humanities or Business faculty from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and ambitious school that values enterprise, analytical thinking, and high-quality teaching.
Business Studies is a highly regarded subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop an understanding of real-world business operations, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
About the Role
You will teach Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that develop students’ commercial awareness, analytical skills, and understanding of business decision-making.
Students will study topics including marketing, finance, human resources, operations, entrepreneurship, and global business environments, while developing strong exam technique and evaluative writing skills.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations, supporting them in achieving strong academic outcomes and progression to higher education or business-related careers.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5
Deliver engaging and applied business lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support enterprise and enrichment activities
Maintain high standards of classroom engagement and behaviour

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Business Studies at secondary or sixth form level
Strong subject knowledge in business concepts and theory
Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 confidently
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Business Studies
Experience with exam board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel)
Ability to contribute to enterprise or enrichment programmes
Experience in a high-achieving or independent school setting
