CORE PURPOSE
We require an ambitious, intellectually rigorous English Teacher to deliver high-quality literary and linguistic instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role involves facilitating a challenging, knowledge-rich curriculum that develops advanced critical analysis, sophisticated written expression, and a lifelong appreciation for diverse literary texts.
KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Curriculum Delivery & Rigour: Plan and execute highly structured, evidence-based English Language and Literature lessons that challenge pupils across all academic profiles and learning requirements.
Examination Preparation: Guide Key Stage 4 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE English specifications, embedding precise essay-writing frameworks, textual analysis techniques, and retrieval practices.
Oracy & Literacy Promotion: Lead targeted department initiatives to elevate whole-school literacy standards, expanding pupils' academic vocabulary, reading comprehension strategies, and formal speaking capabilities.
Progress Diagnostics: Run regular formative and summative assessment routines, utilising pupil tracking data to diagnose learning misconceptions and design sharp, targeted intervention sessions.
Pastoral Responsibilities: Undertake full form tutor duties, managing morning registration routines, tracking pupil attendance, and delivering the school's structured personal and social development programmes.

Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics in terminal public examinations through explicit, highly engaging whole-class instruction.
Routine Implementation: The ability to execute school behaviour policies with absolute consistency, maintaining a positive, highly focused, and strictly disciplined classroom culture.
