Spanish Teaching Role in an Outstanding Secondary School
An outstanding secondary school in Liverpool is seeking to appoint a Spanish Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-performing and supportive school that values languages, cultural understanding, and high-quality teaching.
Spanish is a highly regarded subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing while gaining an appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures around the world.
About the Role
You will teach Spanish across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that inspire confidence, curiosity, and strong language development.
Students will study areas including grammar, vocabulary, translation, literature, cultural topics, and conversational fluency while developing communication skills and intercultural understanding.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations, supporting them in building confidence with speaking assessments, writing accuracy, comprehension, and exam technique.
You may also have the opportunity to contribute to wider MFL provision where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Spanish across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging speaking, listening, reading, and writing lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Spanish examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support language enrichment and cultural opportunities
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Spanish
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
Ability to teach an additional language
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Ability to contribute to language enrichment activities
