Design & Technology Teaching Role in an Outstanding Secondary School
An outstanding secondary school in Dudley is seeking to appoint a Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-performing and supportive school that values creativity, innovation, and high-quality teaching.

About the Role
You will teach Design & Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire creativity, innovation, and technical confidence.
Students will explore areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, and design processes while developing practical making skills, CAD/CAM understanding, and evaluative thinking.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level/Level 3 DT qualifications, supporting them in building strong practical, design, and analytical skills.
You will work collaboratively within a successful department committed to maintaining outstanding standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Design & Technology across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based DT lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and post-16 DT qualifications
Maintain high standards of workshop health and safety
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support STEM and enrichment opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching KS5 DT qualifications
Specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, or Graphics
Experience preparing students for GCSE and post-16 examinations
Ability to contribute to STEM or enrichment programmes
