Physics Teaching Role in a Secondary School
A well-established secondary school in Walsall is seeking to appoint a Physics Teacher to join its Science department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and ambitious school that values scientific enquiry, analytical thinking, and high-quality teaching.
Physics is a highly regarded subject within the school, with students encouraged to develop problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and a strong understanding of scientific principles through engaging practical and theoretical learning.
About the Role
You will teach Physics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ scientific understanding, mathematical application, and analytical thinking.
Students will study topics including forces, electricity, energy, waves, motion, space, and particle physics while developing confidence in experimentation, data analysis, and scientific reasoning.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations, supporting them in building strong subject knowledge, practical skills, and exam confidence.
You will work collaboratively within a successful Science department committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Physics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Physics lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Physics examinations
Plan and supervise practical laboratory activities
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Maintain safe laboratory procedures and environments
Contribute to STEM enrichment and departmental development

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Physics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Physics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Physics
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Ability to contribute to STEM enrichment activities
