Teacher of English – Permanent Role | Manchester | September Start

A secondary school in Manchester is seeking a Teacher of English to join its department from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established English department with a strong focus on academic achievement, literacy development, and high-quality teaching. The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential KS5 teaching available depending on experience.

The Role

  • Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4

  • Potential KS5 teaching opportunities for experienced candidates

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons

  • Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

  • Monitoring student progress and attainment

  • Contributing to departmental development and enrichment activities

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in English or a related subject

  • Experience teaching English within the UK secondary curriculum

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • The legal right to work in the UK
