Teacher of English position in Islington | High Performing Department

A high-performing secondary school in Islington is looking to appoint a passionate and committed Teacher of English for a permanent position starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive English department and teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a school that values communication, high standards, and strong relationships with students.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and analytical lessons that help students build confidence, textual analysis skills, creative writing ability, and a lifelong appreciation of classic and contemporary literature. The Role:

  • Working closely with colleagues within the English faculty

Requirements:

Applicants must have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related subject

  • Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting up to GCSE level

  • Strong classroom management skills

  • The legal right to work in the UK

Salary:

M1 – UPS3 (Inner London Pay Scale)
