About the School:
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Teacher of Business and Economics on behalf of a highly successful, thriving secondary school and sixth form in the London Borough of Hounslow. The school boasts excellent transport links, modern classrooms, and an inclusive, high-achieving academic culture. Business and Economics are incredibly popular and successful choices within the school's expanding Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 provisions, making this an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing and well-resourced Social Sciences faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Business Studies (KS4/KS5) and Economics (KS5/A-Level).
Equip students with a deep understanding of enterprise, market structures, macroeconomics, and global financial systems.
Actively prepare Key Stage 5 students for external A-Level examinations, fostering strong analytical and essay-writing skills.
Differentiate learning resources to stretch high-attaining pupils aiming for top university placements, while robustly supporting students requiring additional academic intervention.
Assess, track, and report on student progress effectively, using data to implement targeted interventions and maximize student outcomes.
Contribute to departmental collaboration, curriculum design, and extracurricular business challenges or enterprise initiatives.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
A strong degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
Proven ability to deliver strong academic results, particularly at Key Stage 5 / A-Level.
Deep subject knowledge of current UK exam board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel).
Strong communication, organizational skills, and a collaborative team-player mentality.
