Job Title: Design Technology Teacher

Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 per annum (MPS/UPS)
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the School:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Design Technology on behalf of a progressive and highly regarded secondary academy in Leeds. The school boasts fantastic, state-of-the-art workshops equipped with modern CAD/CAM machinery, 3D printers, and traditional tools. With a highly supportive senior leadership team and a strong emphasis on practical STEM subjects, the school provides an excellent environment for staff development and student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (KS3/KS4).
Cultivate a safe, structured, and inspiring workshop environment where students can confidently explore material properties, design theory, and practical skills.
Assess and track student progress effectively, providing constructive feedback to support GCSE coursework (NEA) preparation.
Maintain high standards of workshop safety and health and safety compliance, managing material stock and equipment responsibly.
Contribute to departmental resource sharing, curriculum development, and extracurricular design clubs.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
A degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Sound knowledge of workshop machinery and health and safety regulations (DATA certification is advantageous but not essential).
Proven ability to inspire students and maintain excellent classroom and workshop management.
