Year 6 Teaching Role in a Primary School

About the Role
You will teach a Year 6 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum while preparing pupils for SATs and transition to secondary school.
The role includes supporting pupils in developing confidence in English, Mathematics, Reading, and wider curriculum subjects through creative and differentiated teaching.
You will create an inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their full potential.
You will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a Year 6 class across the KS2 curriculum
Prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school transition
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate records and monitor attainment
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Support pupils’ personal, social, and emotional development
Contribute to wider school life and curriculum initiatives

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching within Key Stage 2
Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment
Desirable
Experience teaching Year 6
Experience supporting pupils through SATs preparation
Ability to contribute to wider school initiatives or extracurricular activities
