Maths Teaching Role in an Outstanding Secondary School
An outstanding secondary school in Cambridge is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a high-performing and supportive school that places strong emphasis on academic excellence, problem-solving, and high-quality teaching.
Mathematics is a highly successful subject within the school, with strong outcomes at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to develop confidence in reasoning, analytical thinking, and mathematical fluency across all key stages.
About the Role
You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that support learners of all abilities.
The role includes preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations, with a strong emphasis on mathematical reasoning, exam technique, and problem-solving strategies.
You will support both foundation and higher-tier learners while stretching high-attaining students through challenge and enrichment opportunities.
You will work collaboratively within a successful Maths department to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations
Assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Support intervention and mathematical enrichment activities
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level or Further Mathematics
Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Ability to contribute to mathematical enrichment activities
