The Department & Scientific Inquiry

• You will join an experienced and highly collaborative Science team dedicated to fostering a love for empirical discovery and critical thinking.

Core Responsibilities

1. Engaging Instruction: Planning and delivering high-challenge Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) that cater to a wide range of learning needs and academic starting points.

2. Practical Leadership: Facilitating safe, well-organized laboratory experiments that develop students' technical skills, accurate data recording, and respect for lab safety.

3. Analytical Fluency: Training students to evaluate empirical data critically, identify anomalies, and draw evidence-based conclusions from their investigations.

4. Targeted Assessment: Utilizing regular low-stakes testing to monitor understanding, providing clear, constructive feedback that helps students close knowledge gaps ahead of terminal exams.

5. Whole-School Engagement: Actively contributing to the school's community life as an encouraging form tutor and participating in parents' evenings and departmental reviews.
