The Department & Scientific Investigation
You will join a highly collaborative and successful Science faculty where the subject is celebrated for its academic standards and practical engagement.
The department features modern, purpose-built laboratory suites equipped with up-to-date data-logging tech, chemical apparatus, and biological models.
An exceptionally organized and experienced technician team supports the faculty, ensuring all required practical's and complex demonstrations are set up flawlessly.
The curriculum prioritizes conceptual modelling and empirical evidence, training students to look at data critically and master the scientific method.
Core Responsibilities
Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with potential opportunities to teach your subject specialty at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) for suitably qualified candidates.
Empirical Leadership: Leading safe, organized, and impactful laboratory practical's that train students in precise measurement, keen observation, and robust data analysis.
Conceptual Breakdown: Demystifying abstract, complex frameworks across biology, chemistry, and physics, making tough concepts tangible and accessible to all learners.
Data-Driven Success: Utilizing the department’s detailed assessment tracking systems to identify learning gaps early, providing clear feedback to maximize GCSE exam success.
Enrichment Contribution: Supporting extra-curricular initiatives, such as eco-sustainability projects, STEM challenges, or specialized science clubs.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a dedicated educator who is passionate about cultivating logical clarity, evidence-based thinking, and a genuine curiosity about the natural world. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering high-quality learning and progress outcomes at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a sophisticated understanding of examination board specifications.
Pedagogical Flair: The ability to communicate complex, abstract scientific concepts with enthusiasm and exceptional clarity, inspiring students of all abilities.
