Textual Inquiry: Guiding students through the interrogation of complex texts, fostering the ability to identify nuanced themes, structural choices, and historical contexts.
Written Eloquence: Systematically developing students' ability to write with clarity, flair, and purpose, whether for academic analysis or creative storytelling.
Data-Driven Progress: Utilising the academy’s robust assessment framework to provide targeted, actionable feedback, ensuring students are perfectly prepared for terminal examinations.
Oracy Leadership: Supporting extra-curricular initiatives, such as debating societies or creative writing groups, to promote a vibrant culture of literacy across the academy.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who believes that the study of English is essential for developing informed, articulate, and empathetic citizens. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related discipline.
Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering high-quality learning outcomes at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a deep understanding of exam board specification requirements.
Pedagogical Flair: The ability to bring a wide range of texts to life, making the details of language and the overarching themes of literature accessible to all learners.
