A mixed comprehensive school in Northampton is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that is committed to improving outcomes and raising attainment across all ability ranges.
Mathematics is a core subject within the school, with students developing confidence in number, algebra, geometry, statistics, and higher-level problem solving.
About the Role
You will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering well-structured lessons that support both foundation and higher-tier students.
The role includes preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, with a strong focus on exam technique, fluency, and reasoning skills.
You will differentiate effectively to support mixed-ability groups while also challenging higher-attaining students through extension work.
You will contribute to a collaborative Maths department focused on improving progress and attainment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5
Deliver clear and structured Maths lessons
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Track, assess, and report student progress
Support intervention and enrichment activities
Contribute to curriculum planning and resources
Maintain strong classroom management and engagement
Work collaboratively within the Maths department

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level
Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently
Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics
Experience with mixed-ability teaching
Experience supporting intervention and exam preparation
