Business Teaching Role in a High-Achieving Academy

A high-achieving academy in Rochdale is seeking to appoint a Business Teacher to join its department from September. This is a full-time role within a forward-thinking school that values academic excellence, career-focused learning, and strong student outcomes.

Business Studies is a successful and growing subject within the school, with strong uptake at GCSE and A-Level. Students are encouraged to develop entrepreneurial thinking, commercial awareness, and analytical skills through engaging and relevant learning.

About the Role

You will teach Business Studies across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ understanding of business environments, enterprise, and commercial decision-making.

Students will study topics including finance, marketing, operations, human resources, and external business influences through case studies, discussion, and real-world application.

You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Business examinations, supporting them in developing analytical writing, evaluative thinking, and exam confidence.

You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching, assessment, and curriculum delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Business Studies across KS4 and KS5

• Deliver engaging lessons using real-world business examples

• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

• Assess student work and provide structured feedback

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

• Support revision, intervention, and independent learning strategies

• Contribute to curriculum planning and enrichment opportunities

• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

Candidate Requirements

The school is seeking a teacher who can deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons and support student achievement across key stages.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching Business Studies

• Ability to teach KS4 and KS5 effectively

• Strong subject knowledge in business concepts

• Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching Economics or related subjects

• Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations

• Ability to contribute to enterprise or enrichment activities
