We are seeking an intellectually ambitious and commercially minded Business Teacher to join an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' secondary academy. In this role, you will inspire students to master the complexities of the corporate world—from entrepreneurial start-ups to global financial markets—utilizing the city’s unique economic landscape to foster a lifelong passion for enterprise and strategic thinking.
The Department & Professional Culture
You will join a high-performing Business and Economics faculty where the subject is a popular and high-attaining choice at both GCSE and A-Level.
The department fosters a "professional-discourse" atmosphere, encouraging students to engage in high-level critique of contemporary business models, case studies, and macroeconomic trends.
As an "Outstanding" setting, we prioritise a curriculum that balances theoretical rigour with real-world application, focusing on finance, marketing, operations, and human resources.
We maintain active links with local Norfolk enterprises and the University of East Anglia, providing students with opportunities for business challenges, guest lectures, and insight into the regional economy.
Core Responsibilities
Exemplary Instruction: Delivering high-challenge Business Studies lessons across Key Stage 4 (GCSE/BTEC) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level/Level 3 Vocational), ensuring students grasp complex theoretical frameworks.
Case Study Analysis: Guiding students through the rigorous interrogation of real-world business scenarios, ensuring they develop the sophisticated evaluative skills required for top-tier exam performance.
Strategic Thinking: Systematically teaching the mechanics of financial accounting, market positioning, and organizational behaviour to ensure students can communicate business strategies with clarity and authority.
Data-Driven Progress: Utilising the academy’s robust assessment framework to provide granular feedback, ensuring students are equipped to meet the high-level demands of Pearson, AQA, or OCR specifications.
Entrepreneurial Leadership: Coordinating extra-curricular initiatives, such as "Young Enterprise" or investment clubs, to promote a vibrant culture of innovation across the academy.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority who believes that business education is the key to social mobility and economic empowerment. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong honours degree in Business Studies, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
Proven Track Record: Evidence of delivering exceptional learning outcomes at GCSE and A-Level, with a deep understanding of vocational and academic assessment objectives.
Communication & Flair: The ability to model professional academic talk and inspire students through a deep-seated interest in current affairs and global markets.
Reflective Practice: A professional committed to continuous growth, eager to participate in collaborative planning and the development of world-class resources.
