HR Manager – Woodford Green (Independent School)
We are working with one of the country’s leading independent day schools in Woodford Green to appoint an HR Manager for an immediate start. This is a full-time, temporary position running until July 2026, offering a unique opportunity to lead the HR function within a flourishing and prestigious educational community.
Here, the staff are part of a welcoming and professional community. The school is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive culture — one where pupils and staff alike can be themselves and succeed on merit. It is a place where professional standards are high, but the working environment remains friendly, diverse, and supportive.
Why This Role Stands Out
The HR function holds a vital place within the life of the school, supporting approximately 1,200 pupils and a large, dedicated staff body. In an independent setting of this calibre, you are more than just an administrator; you are a trusted advisor helping to maintain a first-class educational environment.
You will be working in a stable, well-resourced setting where academic ambition sits comfortably alongside a warm, respectful culture. Because the school is so well-run, your energy goes into strategic HR delivery and proactive people management, rather than reactive crisis control.
The Role
You will lead the HR department, overseeing the entire employee lifecycle for both teaching and support staff. As this is a temporary post until July 2026, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity and excellence during this period.
Whether you are managing complex recruitment for specialised teaching roles, overseeing the Single Central Record (SCR), or providing nuanced advice to the Senior Leadership Team, you will have the freedom to work with personality and expertise. There is "no unnecessary noise" here—just a clear focus on supporting a community that loves to learn and work.
