Core Responsibilities

1. A-Level Academic Delivery: Teaching A-Level Chemistry (OCR, AQA, or Edexcel), ensuring students master complex theoretical frameworks from thermodynamics to transition metal chemistry.

2. Advanced Practical Supervision: Guiding students through sophisticated practical endorsements (CPAC), focusing on precision, safety, and high-level data interpretation in organic and inorganic contexts.

3. HE & Career Mentorship: Providing expert guidance for UCAS applications, particularly for competitive pathways such as Medicine, Chemical Engineering, and Veterinary Science.

4. Scholarly Inquiry: Leading seminars that explore contemporary chemistry—such as green synthesis and nanotechnology—encouraging students to engage with global scientific challenges beyond the exam specification.

5. Assessment Excellence: Implementing rigorous mock examination cycles and providing granular feedback on calculation techniques and evaluative writing.

The Successful Candidate We are looking for a subject authority with a passion for high-level chemistry and the mentorship of young adults. Requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS, with a strong honours degree in Chemistry or a closely related discipline.

• Subject Specialism: The ability to teach A-Level Chemistry with absolute confidence and a track record of achieving high value-added results.

• Adult-Centered Approach: An understanding of the unique pastoral and academic needs of 16–19 learners, fostering an environment of independence and mutual respect.
