We are working with a school who are recruiting for a strategic and inspirational Head of Science for an Independent school in East Sussex. This is a full-time, maternity cover position starting in September 2026. This leadership role is central to maintaining the school’s high academic standards and scholarly inquiry.

The Role

• Departmental Leadership: Lead a flourishing Science department with total precision, overseeing the delivery of a curriculum that balances Common Entrance rigour with Baccalaureate skills.

• Academic Oversight: Ensure that the Science offering supports both the "Learning Support" and "More Able and Talented" programmes, allowing each child to reach their highest potential.

• Operational Excellence: Utilise technology-rich resources and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to ensure zero learning time is lost.

• Scholarly Environment: Maintain a well-ordered and inspiring department that prepares students for the academic transition to senior school.
