Teacher of English – Independent School – Warwickshire

About the Role
As Teacher of English, you will teach across KS3–KS5 (depending on experience and timetable), delivering ambitious and well-structured lessons that develop confident readers, thoughtful critics and fluent writers. You will support pupils to:
Read widely and respond to texts with depth and independence
Write with clarity, structure and academic precision
Develop confident oracy through discussion, debate and presentation
Build strong exam technique through modelling, practice and feedback
The Department
English is a central subject within the school, with a strong focus on literature, language, writing and reading culture. The department is collaborative and well resourced, with shared planning and a commitment to high outcomes and wider enrichment such as theatre trips, reading programmes or writing opportunities.

Start Date: ASAP / next term (or by agreement)
Contract: Full-time, permanent (or as agreed)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
What the School is Looking For
QTS (or equivalent recognised teaching qualification)
Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
Ability to teach confidently across KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable)
High expectations and strong classroom practice
