ECT History Teacher – Secondary School – Wolverhampton

A welcoming and well-organised secondary school in Wolverhampton is seeking an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of History to join its supportive Humanities department. About the Role

As ECT History Teacher, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that build pupils’ historical knowledge and key disciplinary skills. You will be supported to deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops:

  • Strong historical knowledge across a range of periods and themes

  • Disciplinary thinking: causation, significance, change and continuity

  • Source analysis and interpretation through structured practice

  • Confident extended writing through modelling and feedback

  • GCSE confidence through deliberate practice and clear routines

ECT Support and Development

You will benefit from a strong ECT programme, including:

  • A dedicated subject mentor and regular coaching

  • Protected time for training, planning and reflection

  • Opportunities to observe experienced colleagues

  • Support with behaviour routines, assessment and adaptive teaching

  • Shared resources and collaborative planning to reduce workload

  • Salary: MPS (ECT)
