We are seeking an Art Teacher who can harness this local heritage to inspire our students. This role involves teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, guiding pupils through the mastery of traditional techniques while encouraging bold, contemporary experimentation. You will be instrumental in helping students find their visual voice and understand the power of art as a medium for communication and social reflection.
The Department
You will work in light-filled, specialist studios equipped for a variety of disciplines, including fine art, sculpture, printmaking, and digital photography.

Core Responsibilities
Delivering high-energy, practical lessons that build foundational skills in drawing, painting, and 3D design across Year 7 to Year 9.
Guiding GCSE students through the development of their portfolios, ensuring a balance between technical skill, creative research, and personal response.
Introducing students to a wide range of art history and contemporary practitioners, fostering a critical vocabulary for analyzing visual culture.
Organizing and curating internal exhibitions to celebrate student achievement and raise the profile of the Arts within the local community.
Managing the studio environment to ensure it is a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space for students of all artistic abilities.
The Successful Candidate We are looking for a practicing artist and educator who is passionate about the "making" process. Requirements include:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Fine Art, Design, or a related creative discipline.
A strong personal portfolio and the ability to demonstrate a variety of techniques (e.g., oil painting, clay modeling, or Adobe Creative Suite).
A proven track record of supporting students through the GCSE Art & Design assessment criteria, specifically in meeting the four Assessment Objectives (AOs).
The ability to foster a culture of resilience, where students are encouraged to take risks and learn from the "happy accidents" of the creative process.
