About the Role
As Teacher of English, you will teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for KS5 depending on experience and timetabling. You will deliver a well-sequenced curriculum that develops secure knowledge, strong literacy and exam confidence.
Your teaching will support pupils to:
Read widely and accurately, developing comprehension and increasingly sophisticated interpretation
Write with clarity and structure, producing well-evidenced analytical responses and purposeful extended writing
Build vocabulary and technical accuracy, improving sentence fluency, grammar and expression over time
Speak confidently, through structured discussion, debate and purposeful oracy routines
Succeed at GCSE, through deliberate practice, modelling, feedback and clear exam technique
Lessons are designed to support students with different starting points through effective scaffolding, while maintaining high expectations and providing stretch and challenge for high attainers.
