A vibrant and well-regarded secondary school in Leeds is seeking an organised and technically minded Science Technician to join its successful Science department from September 2026. This is a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of the practical science curriculum across all key stages.

The Science department is high-achieving and relies on the expertise of its technical team to prepare experiments, manage equipment, and maintain a safe working environment.

The Role

• Preparing equipment and chemicals for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics

• Assisting teaching staff with the delivery of demonstrations and required practicals

• Maintaining, calibrating, and repairing laboratory equipment

• Managing stock levels, including the safe storage and disposal of chemicals in line with COSHH

• Ensuring all laboratories and prep rooms comply with health & safety regulations (CLEAPSS)

• Supporting students during practical sessions where required

• Assisting with the organisation of STEM clubs and school science events

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• A background in Science (A-Level or Degree level) or previous experience as a Science Technician

• A strong understanding of health & safety protocols within a laboratory setting

• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines

• A proactive and "hands-on" approach to problem-solving

• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a technical and teaching team

• Good ICT skills for stock management and record-keeping
