The Role
Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, specialising in Resistant Materials/Product Design
Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured practical and theory-based lessons
Supporting pupils with coursework, NEA (Non-Exam Assessment), and examination preparation
Promoting high standards of workshop safety, tool maintenance, and health & safety
Encouraging creativity, precision, and independence in design-and-make sessions
Monitoring pupil progress and using assessment effectively to raise attainment
Contributing to wider school initiatives and extracurricular design challenges
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, Product Design, or a related subject
Experience teaching DT at secondary level with a focus on Resistant Materials
Strong subject knowledge and confident practical classroom delivery
High expectations for pupil engagement, behaviour, and progress
A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach
