Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for equipping students with the logic and technical skills required for the modern world. Your responsibilities will include:
Instructional Excellence: Planning and delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will prepare students for GCSE Computer Science, focusing on both the theoretical foundations of the subject and practical programming skills.
A-Level Leadership: For candidates with the appropriate technical depth, there is the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5, guiding students through advanced topics such as Big O notation, complex data structures, and the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence.
Programming Mastery: Teaching students to be proficient in high-level languages, with a primary focus on Python. You will help students develop the ability to write, test, and refine code to solve complex problems.
Theory and Systems: Delivering engaging lessons on the internal workings of computer systems, including hardware architecture, networking protocols, and the fundamentals of cybersecurity.
Digital Innovation: Contributing to the development of our curriculum, ensuring it reflects current industry standards and includes emerging fields such as machine learning, web development, and physical computing with Raspberry Pi.
Extracurricular Engagement: Leading or supporting initiatives such as Robotics clubs, national coding competitions (like the Perse Coding Challenge), or cybersecurity "capture the flag" events.

The successful candidate will be a logical thinker and an enthusiastic subject advocate with a deep understanding of the digital landscape. You should possess:
Academic and Professional Credentials: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We welcome applications from both experienced practitioners and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
Technical Proficiency: A strong command of at least one major programming language and a broad understanding of computer systems, logic, and data representation.
