Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Supporting pupils in developing both theoretical and practical scientific knowledge
Preparing pupils for GCSE Science examinations
Supervising and supporting practical experiments, ensuring all safety procedures are followed
Monitoring pupil progress and providing timely, constructive feedback
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
Supporting extracurricular science opportunities and STEM initiatives
Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Be confident teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be able to motivate pupils and instil a passion for Science
Work collaboratively within the department and wider school community
Be committed to ongoing professional development
